Artist's Comments

From the destructive force of Hurricane Katrina to the wild temperature swings in Europe and the United States - many have begun to consider not only that climate change might be real, but that it might have significant economic consequences.

as with the water, the clouds in the background are made with maya's fluid dynamics, if you like adjusting a bazillion attributes and spending days doing test renders then maya is your app... "can you imagine?" lol

hi ya, i guess the texture is a dynamic procedural texture, meaning that the texture drives the surface via displacement, but also the other way around, say if you through a rock in the water, yes a 3d rock!, the wake caused by the rock would change the texture, eg at a certain height the crest of the wake may create a foam like texture.... (depending on the attributes) similar to what you see in the Weathering the Storm image, its kinda way lots more complex than that! i hope that helps :)

Reminds me of a Tool song from the Aenima CD.
Mother nature is going to wash it all away.
